I'm sure that the entire planet (or at least the eency tiny bit of the planet that knows I exist) is aware that I desparately want to be a dog parent, but my current living situation precludes bringing a puppy home. A little over a year ago the awesome Abigail very nearly came to live with me, but not before my old landlord sold the house I lived in out from under me--evicting me with very little notice. After a whole lot of drama (and conversations with helpful lawyers) the situation was resolved, but I didn't have much time to find a new place to live. My current apartment is great--super location and really good landlord (miss communication aside). The only drawbacks are very little natural light and NO DOGS allowed. So. No puppy for me.
Recently it looked like I was about to move again, into a house with a huge yard with landlords willing to let me bring a pooch home and even dog-sit for me on occassion (the house is next door to my parents). But alas, alak, it is again looking like this won't happen soon, and maybe never. After getting my hopes up again, trolling the classifieds and humane society websites, and devouring information on puppy training from a variety of sources, I have to shut it off. Again.
So last Friday, to try to assuage that empty place where a puppy should be, I bought myself a very sweet and cuddly puppy shaped stuffed animal. This probably isn't healthy, but my puppy sure is cute! Plus, stuffed animals never need to be let out before I am ready to roll out of bed in the morning.
Now, a poll. Should he be named "Hamilton", "Taffy", or just "PUPPY!"? (Or "Boone" like the tag in his ear said when I brought him home?)
So, anytime you wanna play with Phay you are more than welcome to come steal her away for awhile. She would love you forever!! :)
OMG, Amy, marry me!
Hamilton, all the way.
Lady, Phay is just down the street and she'll probably be lonely without you here all summer!
And Sarah, I love you too my darlink.
Fern, I think so too. Let's thank Max aged 3? for that winner of a puppy name.
You have to save hamilton for the real dog. Max only comes up with the awesome most times. No guarentees on another winner. Go with Bone.
Bone is pretty cute. I'll have to talk this over with the puppy when I get home. He is getting used to being called Hamilton. Though I do think a person can have both a stuffed "Hamilton" and a real live "Hamilton".
Plus, no matter how rad a name, it is a lot of syllables for a four-legged-friend to recognize. The training manuals say you should stick to only 1 or 2 syllables.
NERD ALERT!!!
