This post may be mostly for my friend David, hater of flickr and new convert to web albums by picasa. This is not to say he isn't on to something, but I did recently pay up for another year's pro account. And I discovered this new gem. I spent a lot of this holiday weekend wallowing at home feeling very unwell. Instead of laying on the sofa with nothing to show for it, I think I productively used that time by geotagging over 75% of my photos. Does this make me as big of a nerd as I think it might? Probably.
I've toyed with Picassa, but didn't really get into it. I might re-open my mind about it though, as Flickr does kind of annoy me.
Ummm, yeah. Mine have been geotagged for a few days myself. Most all the new pictures have been tagged. I'm a GIANT dork.
Since I have to profess to love picasa (and actually do), I don't think the geotagging will change David's mind about flickr. But wow, way cool!
Flickr's new feature is beautiful. As I explored it, I felt a welling tear of happiness that the flickr people cared enough to reach out to the spatially inclined. I'm now compelled to soften my second surname from "flickr hater" to "flickr tolerater."
Success! So Pedestrian tolerates flickr! And I'm sure that picasa will pick up the geotagging thing soon. Especially since google maps is so much better than yahoo maps, especially out of the US.
